March 2016 Favorites!

Happy Tuesday!! I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend (and a bearable Monday)! Ours was relatively low key, but we had some fun! Hubby took kiddo to soccer on Saturday while I stayed home attempting to finish touching up the baseboards and paint in our bathroom, but that just didn't happen. I'm going to have to tape off the trim in order to touch up the wall paint in order for it all to look nice.

Kiddo and I (hubby left for a long training) went to a Lego convention type thing on Sunday which was not quite what I expected, but we had fun nonetheless. Then the highlight of my day was getting to the mall to the newly remodeled (and now huge) Lush store! It's been closed since January and I've had a gift card burning a hole in my wallet just waiting for it to re-open!

So over the past year or so, I have really gotten into watching YouTube. I watch some random daily vloggers, and several beauty vloggers and have just been loving seeing new products and techniques for make up and skin care (as well as mommy related vlogs)! One of the things a lot of the beauty (and some mama) channels make is a monthly favorites video. I love watching these and seeing what products, new or old, that they may be loving each month and it's led me to try some great things! So I figure I'd try it out here on my blog!! Hopefully my insights can help someone find that perfect beauty/mom/lifestyle product that they've been searching for!! So let's dive in to my favorite things from March!!

The first is a recently new find, but now a favorite that I cannot live without. Coffee. Dunkin Coffee. I found this Bakery Series Caramel Coffee Cake ground coffee and it's A-MA-ZING! My husband and I both love it and regular coffee is just pretty boring to me after having this stuff! If you are a flavored coffee lover, this is a must try!! I've found it at pretty much all of the grocery stores around here, but you can find it here on Amazon.

Next, I have 2 beauty favorites for the month. First is this NYX Micro Brow pencil. I have thin hair and even thinner eyebrows, so if I don't have time for a full face of make up, I always will at least throw on my It Cosmetics CC+ cream and fill in my brows. In the past I have used the Maybelline Define A Brow, which is great because of how skinny the pencil is, however I find that it break super easy. So I thought Id give the NYX pencil a try as its relatively new and I happened to see it at Ulta one day. I love it!! It's super skinny (and retractable) just like the Maybelline, but it doesn't break! I have always felt like the Maybelline had such little product and I was constantly replacing it (and for the price, that wasn't a huge deal), but this one doesn't break, and I'm finding it lasts a lot longer. While the NYX is a little more than the Maybelline, Ulta has NYX product buy one, get one 50% off quite often, so if you catch it on sale, that makes it even better! It goes on easily and stays put all day! I have seen some videos on YouTube comparing it to the Anastasia Brow Wiz, which I have also wanted to try, but couldn't get past the price tag when I could get the similar Maybelline product for so cheap at Walmart. So if you are a brow pencil lover, def check this one out!

My other beauty fav is the new Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor (I have it in the most nude shade, Seduction). Let me start off by saying that I don't think this stuff gets super matte, so if you are looking for a true matte liquid lipstick, this isn't it. However, if you put on a very light coat and keep your lips dry, I suppose it gets somewhat matte. However the lack of matte-ness (that's a word, right?), is fine with me because the formula of this stuff is great! Not only does it come in a tube with a doe-foot applicator (perfect for tossing in my purse and not having to worry about it melt into a puddle in my bag in the summer heat), it has a great fruity/vanilla scent, and is pretty long wearing! I am definitely planning to pick this up in at least one more fun, spring color, maybe if I'm daring enough, I'll go with the coral shade, Flirtation!

Next up is a mama favorite. I am a member of this sample community, Pinchme, where they send you samples of products for free in exchange for your review on their website. A couple months ago. I was sent this Boon Snug Silicone Sippy Lid. Kiddo drinks out of regular cups when we sit at the table for meals, but during the day, he likes to have a cup that he can carry around the house and not spill everywhere, so we still use sippy cups quite often. This lid is made of silicone and very stretchy and fits over just about any regular cup, turning it into a sippy cup! It's easy to wash (dishwasher safe!) and I'm excited to have this for next time we travel so instead of having to take an entire cup, this thing is compact and can go on any cup at our destination for spill free drinking. It does not leak, and the lid stays securely on any type of cup we've tried it on. This will def be on my list to get more of for any future kiddos.

My last favorite is something I've had for awhile but have really been using the heck out of it this month and that's my Doterra Citrus Bliss Oil. This stuff is heaven in a bottle! It smells like an orangesicle (the perfect combo of sweet vanilla mixed with orange citrus goodness)! I have been diffusing it while I work, and wearing it in my diffuser necklace when I need that extra pop of energy to get me through my day. This oil is the perfect uplifting scent and just makes me smile when I breathe it in deep. I have always been a citrus lover (to eat and to smell), so this scent is ideal for me!

I hope you all enjoyed this type of blog, if you did comment below and let me know if you have any newly discovered or re-discovered products that I need to try!!
